JNL102   Journalism Skills (Part One)   (20 credits)

Description

This unit is designed to introduce students to the discipline of news writing and the challenges of producing an accurate, readable narrative. It is delivered through a lecture programme which seeks to explore the skills involved in writing for publication and the industrial context in which journalists work. The lecture programme is supported by practical workshops in which students learn to develop their writing skills through a number of exercises of varying complexity.
